The Red Card Campaign World Cup 2010

THE PROBLEM
It's been reported that sex traffickers are planning to traffick 40,000+ girls and boys to South Africa brothels for the World Cup 2010. If enough girls are not trafficked in time for the event, it's believed that local kidnappings will rise to meet the demand. (See video "Interview with a Trafficker" below.)

THE CAMPAIGN
Free Generation International is working to prevent trafficking in South Africa. Their Red Card campaign focuses on ways to end human trafficking in Africa, one kick at a time. You can join the Red Card Campaign by visiting their website and by following them on Twitter.

I posted this video a couple of weeks ago on my blog. You can click here to read the full post. The video provides insight into how traffickers work and what they have planned for the World Cup 2010.

GET EDUCATED
As part of my contribution to the Red Card Campaign, I will be posting a new video about Human Trafficking in South Africa everyday for the next week. Please check back each day to learn more about how you can help kick traffickers out of the World Cup 2010 and out of South Africa for good.

In addition, I came across a petition you can sign to let the United States government know you want them to help kick trafficking out of the World Cup 2010.

If you know of any other petitions surrounding trafficking in South Africa and the World Cup, let me know in the comments section below. I will be sure to add it to the next blog post.
