The Veiled Commodity

I came across this powerful video on youtube this morning. It's a wonderfully depicted short film raising awareness about modern slavery. The film has won numerous awards and you can learn more about The Veiled Commodity project by Dickson Chow and Vinh Chung at www.veiledcommodity.com.

Written and directed by Dickson Chow and Vinh Chung, "The Veiled Commodity" is a short film that deals with slavery's past and present day issues. The film employs various design and animation techniques to tell a concise history of slavery and the problems of its present day counterpart; the trafficking and victimization of people around the world.

This project was a gift to a non-profit organization from Dickson Chow and Vinh Chung to help bring awareness to the issue. It is our way as artists to give back to society and hopefully, in one form or another, help bring an end to such atrocities happening in the world today.

This is only the first part of a three part series. The other parts deals with sexual slavery and child soldiers will be going into production soon. Stay tuned!
