After watching this video, I have one simple question. What fact stood out to you the most? Please share by leaving a comment in the section below.
As further evidence we should listen to children more often, I suggest reading the book Free the Children by Craig Kielburger. Learn how a 12 year old boy started one of the largest and most successful organizations in the world that is working to end child slavery. It will inspire and motivate you to take action.
You can also take action and join the fight against slavery in South Africa by supporting the Red Card Campaign. Help kick traffickers out of the World Cup 2010 and South Africa for good.
GET EDUCATED
As part of my contribution to the Red Card Campaign, I will be posting a new video about Human Trafficking in South Africa everyday for the next week. Please check back each day to learn more about how you can help kick traffickers out of the World Cup 2010 and out of South Africa for good.
In addition, I came across a petition you can sign to let the United States government know you want them to help kick trafficking out of the World Cup 2010.
If you know of any other petitions surrounding trafficking in South Africa and the World Cup, let me know in the comments section below. I will be sure to add it to the next blog post.

all of the stats stood out.
ReplyDeleteFor me, the statistic that a woman in South Africa has better chance of being raped than learning to read.
ReplyDeleteThis needs to change. We need to support the groups working for this change and help bring these statistics to light.
